Pilgram to Medan

This is my short update on my first oversea travel.

This was supposed to be posted like few days after the trip, but because something comes up on the way, i have to delay it. Because of this delayed, I can't really remember some of the places' name, sorry for that. And friendly remainder before you scroll down the pictures: this is the MOST CHUBBIEST DAY in my life (so far), don't be surprise!

10 MAC 2012

My flight from Kuching to KL was on 9 Mac, so we waited at the LCCT for the whole night because our flight to Medan was on the next day, 7 am. There were almost 50 of us. The time in Malaysia and Medan is about 1 hour different. The flight was supposed to be 2 hours flight but because of the different time zone, it only took us like 1 hour to reach there. So here we were, my sister and I.

Then, we straight away headed to the hotel which is located in the city, Asean International Hotel. We took our breakfast, or supposed to be brunch because it is already 10 am something i guess. After that, check in to our room and then went for short outing around the city.

Then, we went to a restaurant for lunch. After that going back to the hotel for short rest and change. That evening, we were to attend a mass at Maria Annai Velangkani Church which was located almost 1 hour drive from the city. The design of the church is so wonderful and unique. You will be amazed with it.

The mass ended around 8 pm, and then we went back to the city for dinner and sweet sleep.

11 MAC 2012

We woke up very early in the morning with everything packed because on this day we were going to an island, Samosir Island. The journey took us like 3 hours and we did also made some stops along the way. We did also visit the 'Maria Groto'.

And like sis Tiara had mentioned before on Danau Toba, yeah, I made it there. The lake is so big and truly beautiful. So peaceful like 'heaven'.

Before heading to the resort where we were to stay for that night, we visited a small village in the island. It is a historical place, but i can't recall the story behind it. But there were just so many souvenirs sold there. My eyes were melting seeing all of them because i am a fan of 'tropical-kind' style.

After finished with shopping, we went to the resort which i forget the name. But it is a nice place to stay. I love it so much because it was so windy and the sea look was just so amazing!

After dinner, we went back to the room and took our sweet sleep after the long tiring journey. There were more to go on the next day !

12 MAC 2012

After packing up and taking our breakfast, we went back to the main island. This time, we will be heading to a small town, Baristagi.

We did made some stops along the way. We stop for refreshing tea at a place which looks like Kundasang.

Then, we stopped at a place where the main water source of the Toba Lake was located.

We arrived at the town at noon and perfect time for lunch. After lunch we checked in and prepare ourselves for the evening mass.

The mass ended around 7 pm and we straight away headed to the hotel, and took our dinner. Then, good night sleep.

13 MAC 2012

The day start with a morning breakfast and morning stroll around the market in the town.

After that, we went to 'Air Panas' panas like Poring. For the first time, i saw volcanic in front of me ! Yeah, the water source of the 'Air Panas' was from the volcanic and it is really good for skin.

The rest of the day was spent on our journey back to the city, a stop for 'durian-eating-time', lunch, shopping at the biggest mall, preparation for mass, mass at Maria Annai Velangkani Church, dinner, packing up everything and sleep !

14 MAC 2012

Good bye Medan
Thank you for the great and unforgettable trip, will come there again someday if there is another chance.

If you notice, the activities in this pilgrim were mostly on visiting places even though it is a church activity. But i feel that the journey and the feelings we had along the way was the most important. It is one way of refreshing our body, mind and soul. The real meaning of it depends on the individual himself. For me, i have gotten some wonderful insights along the way. This pilgrim is truly a blessing for me. Thank you for everything, Lord.

And 1 more, the best thing about Medan was the FOOD. i just love eating and that is why i was sooooo chubby or should it be 'fat' that time!
